Failte Ireland lists the Top Tourist Attractions in Ireland for 2015

Failte Ireland recently named the top Irish tourist attractions for 2015. The list showed a marked increase in visitor numbers which is a very positive sign for the Irish economy, and shows how important tourism is for Ireland.

Probably unsurprisingly The Guinness Storehouse topped the list again in 2015 with just shy of 1.5 million visitors.

The top Free attraction remained the National Gallery of Ireland with over 700,000 visitors in 2015.

Below is the top 5 list for both Paid and Free attractions with the % increase or decrease from the prior year.

Paid Attractions:

1. Guinness Storehouse – 1,498,124 (+18%)
2. Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience – 1,251,574 (+16%)
3. Dublin Zoo – 1,105,005 (+2.6%)
4. National Aquatic Centre – 991,554 (-6.5%)
5. Book of Kells – 767,996 (+18%)

Free Attractions:

1. The National Gallery of Ireland – 718,637 (+21%)
2. National Botanic Gardens – 553,348 (+2%)
3. Irish Museum of Modern Art – 485,702 (+58%)
4. National Museum of Ireland (Archaeology, Kildare St) – 457,057 (+2%)
5. Farmleigh – 410,076 (+2%)
